1. Cleaning:
   • Gentle Washing: Use a mild detergent when washing to help preserve the colours. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals that could weaken or fade the fabric.
   • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water and place the flag inside a mesh laundry bag to protect it from damage.
   • Air Drying: Lay the flag flat or hang it to air dry naturally. Avoid using a tumble dryer, as high heat can cause shrinkage or damage to the fabric.
2. Storage:
   • Proper Storage: Make sure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture to prevent damage.
3. Folding the Pakistan Flag:
   • Start by laying the flag on a flat, clean surface with the white crescent and star facing up.
   • Fold the flag in half lengthwise, aligning the long edges so they meet in the middle.
   • Smooth out any creases to ensure the fabric is even.
   • Fold the flag in half again lengthwise, matching the long edges to create a narrower shape.
   • Take the bottom edge and fold it upwards to meet the top edge, creating a long, compact shape.
   • To complete the traditional triangular fold, start from one end and fold it diagonally into a triangle. Continue folding in triangles until the flag is neatly folded into a small, triangular shape with the star and crescent visible.
   • Ensure each fold is tight and neat to maintain the flag's shape and present a respectful appearance when stored.
4. Handling:
   • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the flag away from anything sharp or abrasive that could damage the fabric, such as rough surfaces or pointed items.

  • The flag should be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect during periods of mourning or national tragedy. To lower the flag, raise it to the peak briefly before lowering it halfway down the pole.
  • When the period of mourning is over, the flag should be raised back to its full height to signify the return to normalcy.
• Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset:
  • The flag should be hoisted at sunrise and lowered at sunset, in keeping with proper flag etiquette. If illuminated by lights during the night, the flag can remain flying after dark.
  • Ensure the flag is raised in a respectful manner at the start of the day and taken down with care at sunset to avoid wear and damage.
• Weather Conditions:
  • Avoid flying the flag during severe weather, such as heavy rain, strong winds, or storms, as this can cause damage to the fabric and reduce its lifespan.
  • If the weather conditions are not suitable for displaying the flag, it should be brought down and stored in a dry, secure place to protect it from potential damage.
• Retirement of the Flag:
