   • Next, fold the flag in half widthwise, bringing the left and right edges together, ensuring the emblem is still visible on the outside.
   • Continue folding the flag into smaller sections by folding it in thirds, starting from one side, making sure each fold is even and aligned.
   • For a compact fold, make the final folds as small as necessary, creating a neat, rectangular shape with the design still visible on top.

   • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is securely fastened when displayed to prevent undue strain on the fabric.

Flying the Malta Flag:

• Raising the Flag:
  • For Header with Loops: Attach the reinforced loops at the top of the flag to the flagpole or rope using the sister clips, ensuring a secure and tight fit. Once securely fastened, raise the flag to the desired height using the hoisting mechanism.
  • For Vertical Sleeve: Slide the flag’s vertical sleeve over the flagpole, ensuring it fits snugly and the fabric is not bunched up.
  • Ensure the flag is flown to full height, allowing it to unfurl and fly freely in the wind. It should not be allowed to drag on the ground.
• Displaying the Flag:
  • Ensure the flag is correctly oriented when displayed. The St. George’s cross should always be positioned in the top-left corner when the flag is flown or hung horizontally.
  • When the flag is displayed vertically, St. George’s cross should be on the right side. This ensures the correct representation of Malta’s national identity.
  • The flag should be flown on its own flagpole, unless it is part of a multi-flag display, in which case the Malta flag should take a place of honour, at the highest point or to the farthest left (when displayed with other flags of equal height).

• Flying the Flag Half-Mast:
  • The Malta flag should be flown at half-mast as a sign of mourning or respect, typically on the day of a national or public tragedy.
  • To properly raise the flag to half-mast, first raise it to the top of the pole and then lower it to the halfway point.
  • When lowering the flag from half-mast, always raise it back to the top before bringing it down entirely as a mark of respect.
• Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset:
