Fly the Flag of Paradise with Our Knitted Polyester Anguilla Flag

Anguilla, a beautiful British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean, is renowned for its stunning white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant coral reefs. This idyllic paradise is also known for its rich history, friendly locals, and thriving marine life. Our Knitted Polyester Anguilla Flag captures the essence of this picturesque island, making it an ideal choice for displaying your pride in this stunning destination.

The Anguilla Flag:

The Anguilla flag is more than just a symbol; it reflects the island’s identity and heritage. Its design includes:
  • Coat of Arms: Positioned on the right side of the flag, the coat of arms features three dolphins arranged in a circle on a white shield. The dolphins symbolise friendship, wisdom, and strength, while the white background of the shield represents peace. The light blue section at the bottom of the shield signifies the sea, faith, youth, and hope.
  • Union Jack: Located in the top left corner, the Union Jack underscores the island’s connection to the British Empire and highlights Anguilla’s status as a British Overseas Territory.
  • Blue Background: The dark blue field of the flag is inspired by the British Blue Ensign, reflecting Anguilla’s historical ties and maritime heritage.

Available Finishes:

  • Header with Loops: This finish includes reinforced loops at the top of the flag, paired with practical sister clips, ensuring a sturdy and secure attachment to flagpoles or ropes.
  • Vertical Sleeve: Features a discreet pocket along the side, designed for easy sliding onto flagpoles with diameters up to 28mm. For custom sleeve sizes, please contact us, and we will accommodate your specific requirements.

For enduring quality and vibrant colours of the Anguilla Flag, please follow these care guidelines:

  1. Cleaning:
    • Wash Gently: Use a mild detergent to prevent fading. Avoid bleach or similar harsh chemicals.
    • Machine Wash: If machine washing is necessary, select a gentle cycle with cold water. Place the flag in a mesh laundry bag to avoid snagging.
    • Drying: Air dry the flag by laying it flat or hanging it up. Do not use a tumble dryer, as high heat can cause shrinkage and damage the fabric.
  2. Storage:
    • Proper Storage: Ensure the flag is completely dry before storing. Keep it in a cool, dry, and safe place.
  3. Folding the Anguilla Flag:
    • Initial Fold: Lay the flag flat on a clean surface with the front (featuring the coat of arms) facing up.
    • First Fold: Fold the flag in half lengthwise so that the Union Jack and coat of arms are on the outside, aligning the edges neatly.
    • Second Fold: Fold the flag in half again lengthwise, ensuring the previously folded edge remains even.
    • Fold into a Rectangle: Fold the flag from the bottom up towards the top, making 4 to 5 even sections. This ensures the coat of arms remains visible on top.
    • Final Adjustment: Smooth out any wrinkles or creases, ensuring the flag is neatly folded into a compact rectangle, with the coat of arms and the Union Jack properly aligned and visible.
  4. Handling:
    • Protect from Sharp Objects: Prevent contact with sharp objects or surfaces that could cause snags, tears, or abrasions.
    • Secure Installation: Ensure the flag is properly hoisted and free from obstruction.
    • Flag Exposure: Minimise exposure to harsh weather by taking the flag down during extreme conditions or overnight.
  5. Repairs:
    • Minor Repairs: Address any wear, tear, or fraying promptly by replacing the flag and seeking professional repair from a seamstress.
    • Replacement: As the flag nears the end of its lifespan, consider ordering a new one to ensure you’re always prepared for celebrations or events.

Flying the Anguilla Flag:

  • Raising the Flag:
    • Ensure the flagpole is securely anchored and free from any obstructions.
    • Attach the flag to the halyard (flag rope) using appropriate clips or fasteners.
    • Raise the flag briskly and steadily, ensuring it reaches the top of the pole without touching the ground.
  • Displaying the Flag:
    • Ensure the flag is fully unfurled and visible, with the Union Jack and coat of arms in the correct orientation.
    • The flag should be displayed with dignity, ensuring it is not touching the ground or any other objects.
    • If displaying multiple flags, position the Anguilla Flag in the prominent position of honour, typically at the highest point if on a shared flagpole.
  • Flying the Flag Half-Mast:
    • To lower the flag to half-mast, first raise it to the top of the pole and then lower it to a position halfway down.
    • Ensure the flag remains at this lowered position for the duration of the commemoration or mourning period.
    • When raising the flag back to full mast, first bring it back to the half-mast position before raising it to the top.
  • Flag Etiquette During Sunrise and Sunset:
    • The flag should be raised at sunrise and lowered at sunset.
    • If it is impractical to lower the flag at sunset, ensure it is illuminated if displayed at night to maintain its visibility and respect.
  • Weather Conditions:
    • Avoid flying the flag during severe weather conditions such as storms, high winds, or heavy rain to prevent damage.
    • In adverse weather, take the flag down promptly and store it in a dry, secure place.
  • Retirement of the Flag:
    • When the flag becomes worn or damaged, it should be retired respectfully.
    • Arrange for the flag to be replaced with a new one, and consider recycling the old flag through an appropriate disposal or ceremonial method to honour its service.

By adhering to these care instructions, you can maintain the Anguilla Flag’s vibrant colours and durability, reflecting your pride in Anguilla. The care you take reflects your respect and value for your heritage and symbol.
