The 2025 NRMA Insurance Pink Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground was a powerful and emotional event, bringing the community together in support of the McGrath Foundation. Evan Evans was deeply honoured to be involved, providing a show-stopping silk that featured prominently during the Jane McGrath Day ceremony. As a company passionate about creating high-quality, impactful displays, this project held special meaning for us.
A Proud project with the McGrath Foundation
The McGrath Foundation approached Evan Evans to create a silk for this significant annual event. Our team was thrilled to contribute, knowing how much this symbol would mean to attendees and viewers alike. The banner measured a massive 17.6m x 12.3m and was designed with precision to ensure the colours and details reflected the McGrath Foundation’s new brand.
From the very beginning, Rene Watson and Alexandra Savvidis played a crucial role in managing the project. Their dedication and expertise ensured the silk met every expectation. As Jill Rocchi, Head of Cricket & Community, expressed:
“Thank you very much for your support during the lead-up to the 2025 Pink Test. We were absolutely thrilled with how the silk turned out & most importantly how it was received by the people at the Pink Test and those at home. Like Em, I also shed some tears watching it unfurl in front of me on Jane McGrath Day. Ally – I do need to highlight that your extra support through this process was invaluable and really appreciated.”
The Creative Process: Getting It Just Right
Creating a silk of this scale and significance was no small feat. From the initial brief to the final reveal, every detail was carefully considered. With the McGrath Foundation’s specific Pantone colours in mind, the team at Evan Evans conducted test prints to ensure the shades were exactly right.
Once the client approved the colours, our team printed the banner in 3-metre sections, carefully joining each piece to maintain the integrity of the design. This meticulous process ensured that the impactful message, “No one should go through cancer without care,” was displayed beautifully without interference or distortion.
An Emotional Unveiling on Jane McGrath Day
The unveiling of the silk on Jane McGrath Day was a deeply emotional moment for everyone involved. From McGrath Foundation representatives to spectators and even the Evan Evans team, seeing the silk unfurl on the SCG pitch was a proud and humbling experience.
Emily Pascoe-Loomes , Brand & Marketing Manager shared:
“The silk looked absolutely amazing! I did have a few tears when it was unfurled out on the pitch. The colours were great, absolutely did the designs justice.”
Supporting a Meaningful Cause
Evan Evans is incredibly proud to have been part of this meaningful event. For Rene Watson, this project held special significance, as she personally connected with the cause as a breast cancer survivor. The entire Evan Evans team shares her sentiment, and we remain committed to supporting organisations that make a real difference.
