Bringing Culture to Life: Evan Evans at the Garma Festival

It was truly an honour for our team at Evan Evans to collaborate with the Garma Festival – Australia’s largest Indigenous gathering and one of the nation’s most important cultural events.

Held each year on Gulkula, North-East Arnhem Land, and hosted by the Yothu Yindi Foundation, Garma is a 4-day celebration of Yolngu culture, song, dance, art, and storytelling. The festival brings together thousands of people from across Australia and around the world, creating a space where tradition, connection, and community thrive.

Our Work at Garma

Evan Evans had the privilege of bringing the festival’s visual identity to life across a range of signage and print activations. From large-scale banners welcoming guests to stage backdrops, directional signage, and vibrant printed imagery, our team worked closely with organisers to ensure every detail reflected the festival’s spirit.

Highlights of our contribution included:

Every piece was designed and produced with care, ensuring durability in the outdoor environment while staying true to the festival’s cultural significance.

Why Garma Matters

The Garma Festival is more than an event – it is a meeting place of ideas, culture, and celebration. It plays a vital role in promoting understanding and respect for Yolngu culture and amplifies the voices of Indigenous communities across Australia.

As a company that has been helping organisations share their stories since 1877, Evan Evans is deeply proud to have supported such an important platform for cultural exchange.
